Thank you for considering Spaniel Rescue Foundation to rehome your spaniel – we understand that choosing to surrender your dog is a deeply personal and often difficult decision. Our experienced Operations team is here to support you every step of the way. We’ll take time to understand your circumstances, address any concerns and offer guidance throughout the process.

Your spaniel will be welcomed into a safe, loving foster home. Our fosterers are carefully selected, trained and supported to provide the care, attention and compassion your dog deserves while they await their forever home. Every adoption is tailored, and we assess applicants based on their ability to meet your spaniel’s specific needs – prioritising wellbeing, compatibility and long-term happiness. Our goal is always a successful, lasting match.

We believe in transparency and open communication, so you’ll be kept informed about your spaniel's progress. If there’s anything that’ll help us provide comfort and continuity for your dog (routines, quirks, favourite toys), let us know. Once we’ve found them a new home, we’ll let you know about their new family so that you feel confident your spaniel’s thriving. However, once they’ve been adopted, we stop all updates to protect the privacy and bonding of the new family.

Before we begin: what we’ll need from you:

Surrender form

Please complete our online surrender form and provide as much detail as possible about your dog's health, behaviour and any specific needs. This information will help better assist us in finding a suitable home.

Veterinary records

Include your dog's complete veterinary records – vaccination history, neutering status and any medical conditions. This ensures we can meet your dog’s health needs from day one.

Behavioural information

Share insights into your dog's temperament, training and routines. These help us to place your dog in an environment where they’ll feel safe and understood.

Personal items

If possible, send familiar belongings, (beds, toys, blankets) anything that may provide comfort during the transition. Familiar items can help reduce stress for your dog as they adjust to their new surroundings.

Surrender fee

We may request a surrender fee to help cover veterinary and care costs. As a charity that operates solely on donations, so this fee will allow us to continue offering high-quality support to every dog in our care.

We recognise the emotional weight of this decision. If you need support or have questions at any stage, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You’re not alone – and your commitment to ensuring the best future for your dog is deeply appreciated.
