Surrender Your Dog

We understand that surrendering your beloved spaniel is a major decision and we appreciate you considering Spaniel Rescue Foundation to rehome them.

Our experienced operations team is here to support you throughout the process and will discuss your circumstances, address any concerns you may have, and offer guidance throughout.

Rest assured that your spaniel will be welcomed into a safe and loving foster home. Our dedicated fosterers will provide the care, attention, and love that your pet deserves while they await their new forever home.  All our fosterers are hand-picked and have all the necessary experience and training to provide excellent care for the spaniels in their care.

Our adoption process prioritises the well-being and happiness of every dog in our care, and we strive to match them with a loving family that can provide the care and attention they deserve. All applicants are carefully assessed on merit according to the specific needs of the individual dog and we do everything in our power to ensure that every adoption is successful for every one of our dogs.

At Spaniel Rescue Foundation, we believe in transparency and open communication. You will be kept informed about your spaniel's well-being and progress. If you have specific preferences or information about your dog that can aid in their care, we ask that you share it with us.

Even after your dog comes into our care, we will be happy to send you updates about their well-being. Once we have secured their forever home, we can let you know about their new family so that you have peace of mind knowing they will thrive in a caring environment. However, we stop all updates as soon as your dog goes to their new forever home.

Spaniel Rescue Foundation acknowledges the emotional impact of surrendering a loved pet. We encourage you to reach out if you need additional support or if you have questions about the well-being of your dog.

Thank you for entrusting Spaniel Rescue Foundation with the care of your dog. We are here to support you, and we genuinely appreciate your commitment to their future happiness and safety.

Before proceeding with the surrender process, here is some important information to guide you:

1. Surrender Form: To start the surrender process, please complete our online surrender form and provide as much detail as possible about your dog's health, behaviour, and any specific requirements. This information will help us better understand your dog's needs and assist us in finding a suitable home.

2. Veterinary Records: It is essential to provide your dog's complete veterinary records, including vaccination history, neutering details, and any medical conditions. This information helps our team ensure the well-being of your dog and address any medical needs promptly.

3. Behavioural Information: Please share details about your dog's behaviour, temperament, and any training and assessments that they have undergone. This information assists us in placing your dog in an environment that suits their personality and needs.

4. Personal Items: If possible, include your dog's favourite toys, bed, and any other belongings that may provide comfort during the transition. Familiar items can help reduce stress for your dog as they adjust to their new surroundings.

5. Donation/Rehoming Fee: Spaniel Rescue Foundation operates on donations, and a surrender fee may be requested to help cover the costs associated with your dog's veterinary expenses. This fee ensures that we can continue our mission of providing a high standard of care for all our dogs.
