Adopt a Rescue Dog: Our Rehoming Process

We’re so pleased you’re here. Choosing to adopt a spaniel is a compassionate decision – one that will bring joy, companionship and a touch of spaniel mischief into your life, while giving a dog the second chance they deserve.
Every dog in our care is looking for a loving forever home. We ensure that each dog is given the best possible start on their journey and we’re committed to helping you find the perfect match for your family.
Why Adopt from Us?
Our dedicated team works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome spaniels of all breeds and ages. Here’s what sets us apart:
Comprehensive veterinary care
Every dog receives full health checks and where required, they are vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms, neutered and provided all necessary medical care.
Love and patience
We’re a foster-based rescue, and all fosterers are fully supported by our trainers and behaviouralists. That means your dog will be coming from a loving home where they’ve had a chance to decompress and recover.
Behavioural assessments
Our dogs stay with their fosterer for a minimum of two weeks, so they have time to understand the dog’s personality, behaviour and temperament with support from our education, training and behaviour team. This thorough evaluation helps us match each dog with the most suitable home environment.
Honest information
We’ll share everything we know about your chosen dog as well as an adopter’s guide to help you understand your new furry family member and navigate the transition into their life with you.
Ongoing support and guidance
Our team is here to offer advice, reassurance and resources to help you and your new spaniel adjust to life together.
The Adoption Process
Adopting a dog from Spaniel Rescue Foundation is straightforward and supportive:
Browse our dogs
Take a look at our available dogs and read their profiles to learn more about their personalities, needs and histories.
Fill out an application
Complete our online adoption application form to tell us about your lifestyle and preferences. We read every application. Our priority is to find the perfect home for every dog and we’ll only consider applications that demonstrate they meet the dog’s specific needs. IMPORTANT NOTE: you’ll receive an acknowledgement and garden photo request email. Please be sure to check your spam or junk email folders.
Chat with our Admin team
Someone from the team will get in touch to chat through your application and answer any questions you may have at this stage.
Speak with the dog’s fosterer
We’ll put you in touch with your chosen dog’s fosterer, who’ll give you all the insight into their personality, behaviour and needs.
Meet and greet
If we feel you’re a good match, we’ll arrange a visit to the dog’s foster home with you, your family and any resident pets. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know each other in a relaxed setting.
Home visit
To ensure a safe and suitable environment for the dog, we will conduct a home visit.
Adoption agreement
If the meeting goes well and both parties are happy, we’ll ask you to complete an adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee. This fee contributes towards the cost of the dog’s care.
Time to go home
You can now begin your journey together! We’ll be here to provide post-adoption support and help ensure a smooth transition.
Adoption Fees
Our adoption fees vary depending on the age, breed and medical needs of the dog. These fees are a contribution towards the veterinary care we’ve already covered including vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, flea and worm treatments and any other emergency medical care.
