Summary:

Ralph is a gorgeous, friendly, and gentle teddy bear of a boy with the sweetest nature.

He is now looking for a quiet, calm, and gentle home where his humans are around most of the time, as he loves company.

Ralph is affectionate, loving, and eager to please. In the right environment, he will make a wonderful, loyal companion and deserves a home where he can feel secure, understood, and cherished.

Energy & Exercise:

Ralph is a gentle, bright boy who enjoys his daily walk (off lead) and settles nicely afterwards. Ralph does like to return to the car after about 20 minutes. He has a playful nature and especially likes games and interactive activities. With a little extra mental stimulation, such as scent work or puzzle toys, he can feel relaxed, content, and happy.

Training:

Ralph is house trained and understands the basics, including sit, stay, wait, and come. He has a good foundation and is keen to please, but he would benefit from additional training to help build consistency and confidence as he settles into a new home.

Behaviours:

Ralph is a sensitive, gentle soul who finds comfort in familiar spaces, particularly his car crate where he feels safe. In new environments, he may take a little time to build confidence and settle, but with patience and reassurance, he is able to adjust at his own pace.

He is at his most relaxed in quiet surroundings, where his calm loving nature really shines. Ralph can feel unsettled by loud noises or stormy weather and will look to his humans for comfort when he needs a little extra support.

At times, he may become a little worried and show this through behaviours such as holding onto items or, there has only been 1 episode of air snapping through fear when moved. However, he responds well to gentle handling and is happy to trade items for a treat. With understanding, consistency, and a calm environment, Ralph has the potential to feel safe, secure, and at ease.

Meeting new people:

Ralph is a friendly, sociable boy who is comfortable around new people. He will happily walk past unfamiliar faces and often rolls onto his back, inviting tummy tickles once he feels safe.

Children:

Ralph is very kind and gentle with the young children. However, he is a bouncy, enthusiastic boy and does not cope well with the constant noise and stimulation that comes with a busy family home.

For this reason, and to ensure Ralph can feel calm and settled, a home without children is recommended.

Dog/Cat test:

Unsure re cats so recommend no cats

Home Alone:

During foster Ralph has been left alone for short periods and has of late had no issues.

Medical Summary:

Ralph has been neutered and vaccinated. Ralph currently has at least two lumps on his abdomen, his original vets believe them to be cysts after performing a fine needle aspiration, His fosterer is in the process of getting these reviewed.

Vet visits:

Ralph has not been to the vet in foster but was described as anxious during visits with his owner

Travelling:

Ralph was anxious when travelling with his owners this is less concerning Since being in foster he has travelled for several long distances. He does need an empty crate during travel or he will rip  things up

Handling/Grooming:

Ralph absolutely loves affection and enjoys being fussed over and gently stroked. He seeks out human contact and finds comfort in calm, reassuring touch. He also loves going to the groomer and is relaxed and happy being handled, making grooming a positive experience for him.

Food:

Ralph prefers to graze throughout the day rather than eating in one sitting.

Ralph sleeps well, settling on the floor at night.. He currently has free run of the home and is comfortable moving between spaces as he chooses.
