About Daisy

Daisy is a sweet-natured, intelligent, and affectionate little Cocker Spaniel who, despite her age, still enjoys walks and outdoor adventures. She is active, has a great recall off-lead, and can comfortably walk 4–10 miles. Daisy is incredibly loyal and loves being near her humans — a true companion dog who thrives on affection and routine.

Having been with her previous owner from just 8 weeks old, Daisy has experienced significant upheaval since their passing in late 2024. Understandably, she is currently unsettled and would benefit greatly from the stability, love, and patience of a calm foster home.

Daisy has had a tough time, losing her lifelong owner and enduring multiple rehomings through no fault of her own in quick succession. Her recent behaviours — bin rummaging, nighttime pacing, and clinginess — seem strongly linked to this instability. Underneath it all, she remains a gentle, loving dog who simply needs time, structure, and kindness to flourish again.

We’re seeking a committed and understanding fosterer to offer Daisy the safe haven she really deserves. In return, you’ll receive the unwavering love of a truly special companion.

Ideal  Home

  • A calm, consistent household

  • A home where someone is around most of the time

  • Older, respectful children (aged 13+) considered

  • A garden would be a bonus for her

  • Another calm dog may be suitable, though not essential

  • A home able to maintain her current medication and feeding schedule

Personality & Behaviour

  • Loving & loyal: Daisy bonds closely and wants to be with her humans — especially at night. She sleeps well either on or beside the bed however, she will sleep in the hallway (at a push).

  • Sociable: She’s lived with dogs before and currently shares space with a pug without issue.

  • Good with older children: One minor snapping incident has been reported, with no injury. This seems to have been related to being startled while resting. Our behaviourist believes it was likely a reaction to pressure or accidental contact.

  • Not cat-tested

  • Not destructive when settled, but has previously raided bins and the fridge when left unsupervised overnight — possibly due to stress or hunger.

Walks & Enrichment

  • Walks very well both on and off lead

  • Excellent recall

  • Loves to roll outdoors and enjoys being in nature

  • Not experienced in structured enrichment but is eager and intelligent — would enjoy puzzle toys or gentle stimulation

Health

  • Dry Eye: Managed with Cyclosporine twice daily

  • Sensitive stomach: Currently stable on Lily’s Kitchen wet and dry food. A raw meat incident in May led to a brief vet visit and stomach upset.

  • Vaccinated & wormed (last confirmed Jan 2025) – flea treatment should be continued as scheduled

  • Last seen by vet: May 2025

Other Information

  • Toileting: Clean in the house. Needs to be let out regularly as she no longer has access to a dog flap. Has occasionally soiled in the house in most recent home but never previously.

  • Separation: Has coped with short absences (up to 4.5 hours) when another dog is present.

  • Travels well in the car and behaves calmly at the vet

  • Food: Daisy eats quickly — twice a day, with a lighter evening meal but would easily adapt to an alternative routine.
