Meet Willow – A Sweet, Gentle Lap Dog Ready to Find Her Forever Home!

Willow is a beautiful, kind, and affectionate dog who has come a long way since being found abandoned in poor condition. Whilst we have no information about her past, it looks as though she was used for breeding and then abandoned once her breeding days were over.  With love and care in her foster home, she has blossomed into a playful, contented girl who loves nothing more than spending time with people and other animals.

Willow’s Personality:

Willow is the ultimate cuddle companion! She is gentle, needy, and absolutely obsessed with affection—belly rubs, petting, and cuddles are her favourite things in the world. She is also a playful spirit, especially when it comes to playing fetch! Willow loves to go on sniffing adventures in the garden or around the village and is calm, relaxed, and content. She is always ready to curl up on the sofa for a snuggle while you watch TV—she has zero concept of personal space and will happily snuggle up right beside you, soaking in all the love.

Energy Requirements:

Willow’s energy levels are minimal. She does not need long walks to be happy; a short 20-minute stroll around the village is enough to keep her relaxed. If there is another dog around to play with in the garden, that is even better for tiring her out! Willow is perfectly content to lounge around the house and soak up cuddles all day, making her an ideal companion for someone who enjoys a relaxed, low-energy lifestyle.

Training & Behaviour:

Willow is well-mannered and easy to manage. She is crate-trained and house-trained, and she knows basic commands like "sit." She will happily go to her crate when it is mealtime and has not had any accidents in the house. Willow is good with people of all ages and loves meeting new friends, both human and furry! She is extremely comfortable with other dogs and enjoys the company of a resident dog, as well as dog neighbours. She is met cats too and shows little interest, though she sometimes seeks reassurance from her foster carer if she feels uncertain.

While she might whine a little when left alone initially, Willow quickly settles down and is calm when left with another dog for company. She is not prone to separation anxiety and is perfectly happy to relax while you are out.

Health & Medical Notes:

Willow does have a couple of minor health issues. She has dislocating knees, which the vet has noted tend to relocate on their own without causing her discomfort. At this stage, this has not required any pain management. She also has a small lump around her rear end, which the vet will remove when she is spayed. Willow is otherwise in good health and has no known behavioural issues.

Travel:

Willow is well-behaved in the car. She curls up and naps during short trips (up to an hour) and shows no signs of distress.

Grooming & Handling:

Willow is not a fan of belly grooming and gave a little grumble when her belly was first trimmed. However, with time and trust, she has become much more comfortable and no longer grumbles during grooming. This may be due to her past as an ex-puppy farm dog, and she has come a long way in learning to trust her foster carers.

Sleeping & Behaviour:

Willow sleeps soundly in her crate, though she may whine a little at first. She now has free run of the house, along with her doggy companion, and loves to find a comfortable spot to rest for the night. While she is not prone to separation anxiety, Willow is a true lap dog. She will always want to be close to you—whether sitting beside you on the sofa or resting her head on your feet!

Ideal Home:

Willow is looking for a calm, loving home where she can relax and enjoy a low-energy lifestyle. She would be perfect for someone who works from home or is retired, as she thrives on companionship and cuddles. Willow would do well in a home with another friendly dog for company, especially when her new family needs to leave her alone for short periods.

If you are looking for a gentle, affectionate, and low-maintenance companion who is ready to shower you with love, Willow might be the perfect match for you! Could you offer Willow the forever home for which she has been waiting?

Willow has been vaccinated, is up to date with flea and worm treatments and will be adopted with a contract to neuter her at the appropriate time after her next season
