Meet Galaxy
Galaxy is a gentle, shy older lady with a heart full of love. She’s incredibly timid and currently lacks the confidence to seek out affection on her own, but she follows her sister Coco closely and finds comfort in her presence. Galaxy will quietly observe from a distance before plucking up the courage to come closer — and once she’s settled beside you, she melts into belly rubs and softly paws for more.
Though reserved at first, Galaxy is deeply affectionate once she feels safe. She simply wants a warm, peaceful home, a kind owner, and the reassurance of love and routine.

Energy & Exercise
Galaxy’s energy needs are minimal. She enjoys gentle mooching around the garden at her own pace and isn’t a dog who seeks out daily walks. She would suit someone who understands and embraces a slower lifestyle. It took her two weeks in foster to realise she was allowed to run and play — a beautiful moment of growth for such a shy soul.

Training
Galaxy is house trained and very polite in the home. While she may not know tricks like giving paw, she’s been a genuine pleasure to foster and responds well to gentle, patient guidance.
Behaviours
Galaxy is shy, timid, and sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements. She has likely been mistreated or frightened in the past, so her new family should always approach her with gentleness and care. There are no signs of separation anxiety or concerning behaviours — just a need for patience and understanding.

Meeting new people
Galaxy tends to stay on her bed when visitors arrive, but she can be coaxed out with the promise of a treat and some gentle scratches. Once she’s met someone and feels safe, she may come over to say hello — though this depends entirely on how she’s feeling at the time. Her responses are quiet and thoughtful, and she appreciates being approached with care.
Children
Galaxy has met a six-year-old child and was calm and accepting. However, due to her shy and sensitive nature, a home with children aged 8 and over is recommended. This age group is more likely to understand boundaries and respect her need for space.

Dog/Cat test
Galaxy gets along very well with her sister Coco and the two resident dogs in her foster home. She hasn’t been tested with cats, as there are none in her current environment.

Home Alone
Galaxy appears to cope well when left alone with Coco. She tends to sleep, have a little mooch, and help herself to a drink or some kibble. There’s occasionally a bit of whining at bedtime when left in the kitchen, but it settles within a few minutes. It’s unclear which dog this comes from, but it’s brief and manageable.

Medical History
Galaxy has some dental issues, including rotting teeth, which are scheduled for removal. A vet appointment is provisionally booked for 5th November.

Vet visits
Galaxy was calm when handled by the vet, though she cowered and needed to be carried into the clinic. She settled quietly in the waiting room by her foster carer’s feet. Her past experiences with veterinary environments are unknown.

Travelling
Galaxy travels beautifully in the car. She and Coco cuddle up together in the boot and sleep quietly throughout the journey.

Handling/Grooming
Galaxy has had a home groom, including a bit of a haircut to remove matting. She showed no fear of clippers, scissors, or brushes. She’s been bathed both in the shower and the bath, and while she seemed more comfortable in the shower, she was still a little on edge — likely due to the unfamiliar environment rather than the grooming itself.

Food
Galaxy has a 50/50 mix of wet and dry food. She eats happily next to Coco and has shown no issues around feeding time.

Sleeping
Galaxy is happy to sleep wherever she feels comfortable. She and Coco are given free rein to choose their sleeping spots in the house, and they also settle well in the kitchen on their own beds.

Ideal Home
Galaxy needs a quiet, low-noise home with a secure garden, a warm bed, and a sofa to share for evening cuddles. She needs to be able to sleep beside Coco, and they would love it if their new owner would be happy to share their bed with the girls too!

Galaxy and Coco must stay together. Galaxy may also build a gentle relationship with another resident dog, and a multi-dog household could offer both girls comfort and companionship. Her new home should be calm, patient, and understanding of her sensitive nature. With time and kindness, Galaxy will blossom into a devoted companion who brings quiet joy and gentle love.
