Meet Coco:

Coco is still coming out of her shell, and it’s been a joy to watch her personality blossom. She’s a curious, affectionate older lady who loves to potter around the house and garden, often bouncing with excitement when she’s outside with her dog friends. Coco enjoys being involved in whatever’s happening and will quietly follow her humans to see what they’re up to. She has a lot of love to give and simply wants a warm, safe home with a kind owner and plenty of good food.

Energy & Exercise

Coco’s energy needs are minimal. She’s happiest mooching around the garden at her own pace and doesn’t seek out daily walks. She would suit someone who is comfortable with a slower lifestyle and understands that not every dog enjoys long outings.

Training

Coco is house trained and very polite in the home. While she may not know tricks like giving paw, she’s been a genuine pleasure to foster and responds well to gentle guidance.

Behaviours

Coco is sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe in her surroundings, she relaxes and shows her affectionate side. There are no signs of separation anxiety or concerning behaviours.

Meeting new people

Coco has started joining the resident dogs at the door to greet visitors. She doesn’t bark, but she’s quietly curious and likes to see who’s arriving. Her gentle nature makes her easy to be around.

Children

Coco has met a six-year-old child and was calm and accepting. However, due to Galaxy’s shy and sensitive nature, a home with children aged 8 and over is recommended. This age group is more likely to understand boundaries and respect the dogs’ space.

Dog/Cat test

Coco gets along very well with her sister Galaxy and the two resident dogs in her foster home. She hasn’t been tested with cats, as there are none in her current environment.

Home Alone

Coco appears to cope well when left alone with Galaxy. She tends to sleep, have a little mooch, and help herself to a drink or some kibble. There’s occasionally a bit of whining at bedtime when left in the kitchen, but they settle within a few minutes. It’s unclear which dog this comes from, but it’s brief and manageable.

Medical History

Coco has some dental issues, including rotting teeth, which are scheduled for removal. A vet appointment is provisionally booked for early November. She also has a fatty lump on her rib cage, which the vet believes to be benign due to its size and location. To avoid unnecessary stress, further investigation has been deferred unless needed.

Vet visits

Coco was calm when handled by the vet, though she hesitated to walk into the clinic. She settled quietly in the waiting room by her foster carer’s feet. Her past experiences with veterinary environments are unknown.

Travelling

Coco travels beautifully in the car. She and Galaxy cuddle up together in the boot and sleep quietly throughout the journey.

Handling/Grooming

Coco has had a home groom, including a haircut to remove matting. She showed no fear of clippers, scissors, or brushes. She’s been bathed both in the shower and the bath and tolerated both well, though she seemed a little on edge — likely due to the unfamiliar environment rather than the grooming itself.

Food

Coco enjoys a 50/50 mix of wet and dry food. She eats peacefully next to Galaxy and has shown no issues around feeding time.

Sleeping

Coco is happy to sleep wherever she feels comfortable. She and Galaxy are given free rein to choose their sleeping spots in the house, and they also settle well in the kitchen on their own beds.

Ideal Home

Coco would love to live in a quiet, low-noise home with a secure garden, a warm bed, and a sofa to share for evening cuddles. She needs to sleep beside Galaxy, and preferably sharing their new owner’s bed.

Coco and Galaxy must stay together. Coco could also build a gentle relationship with another resident dog, and a multi-dog household could offer both girls comfort and companionship. Her new home should be patient, kind, and understanding of her gentle nature and slower pace. In return, Coco will offer quiet devotion, gentle companionship, and a heart full of love.

Coco’s energy needs are minimal. She’s happiest mooching around the garden at her own pace and doesn’t seek out daily walks. She would suit someone who is comfortable with a slower lifestyle and understands that not every dog enjoys long outings.
