Valentine’s Story

Valentine came in via a kind lady who rescued her from a potential life as a breeding dog.
She hadn’t been  able to produce live puppies and the breeder agreed for our contact to take her as she had previously rehomed another of their dogs.

She  arrived with a rope and hook around her neck, very smelly,  covered in faeces, and had an ear and eye infection.

This girl’s coat was so tightly matted underneath her legs that her skin was tearing as she walked.

Her feet were red raw having been kept on concrete that was wet with urine and her tiny outside pen was open to the elements so she was always cold and wet from the lack of shelter.

This poor girl had never seen a soft bed or played with a toy but all that changed when she was rescued.

Gentle coaxing, a nice warm bath, ear and eye infections received treatment. All the matts were removed and her skin and paws tended to and a new cheeky little cocker found her feet.

Once she moved into her foster home after a couple of days she settled in and was soon best friends with the resident dog. Started to make herself at home and was soon sleeping upstairs and picking up the routines.

Valentine quickly demonstrated good recall even when off running about in the woods for the first time in her life. Happy to meet every person and every dog she sees.

She is such a happy and friendly dog who fitted in so perfectly that she quickly became a failed foster and now is completely settled into her forever home.
