Pippa’s Story
Pippa was first spotted wandering the streets of a busy city, clearly lost and frightened. Luckily someone called the dog warden and from that moment on, she was finally safe.

She was taken to a local kennel where she was named ‘Pippa’ and immediately received medical attention. The worst of her mats were removed, and her ears were treated. It looked like she had been used for many years as a breeding girl and then discarded once she was no longer useful.

The poor pup was exhausted, hungry and in dire need of care. She wasn’t chipped, her fur was matted, she smelled awful, was undernourished and wary of people. Her ears were so infected that her ear canals were ulcerated and there was concern that her eardrums had perforated.
Pippa was not claimed so after 7 days in kennels, she was handed over to Spaniel Rescue Foundation and was immediately put into an experienced foster home. Here she was given love and care in abundance. Despite her awful treatment at the hands of humans, Pippa turned out to be such a gentle, loving girl. She fitted into the foster home so well and she totally fell in love with her fosterers. And if truth be told, they fell in love with her just as quickly!
After 4 weeks she had become such a big part of the family, that the usual plan of putting her up for adoption was never going to happen and she was adopted by her fosterers.

Today, Pippa is a picture of happiness and health. She enjoys running and chasing squirrels in the woods and receiving endless belly rubs. Her journey from a scared, stray spaniel to a cherished family member is a heartwarming reminder of the impact of rescue work.
