Bodhi is a goofy, stunning boy who really wants to please and be everybody’s friend. His favourite things in the world are people, dogs and playing. He has beautifully soft fur and huge paws so he looks like a baby bear! He has such a gentle nature, and he is going to make someone a super companion.

However Bodhi’s little history is not a happy one. He was kept outdoors and was muzzled 24/7 - the poor puppy has a scar on his nose from where the muzzle dug into him so much. He also needed emergency treatment to remove a painful puppy tooth that was digging into his gum.

Despite this awful start to his short life, Bodhi is such a sweet and loving boy. He’s a typical crazy spaniel puppy who is full of life, energy and curiosity. He is so happy to do anything for a treat and a bit of praise. He also has very sharp puppy teeth so care is needed if he gets over-excited.

It appears that he has had very few life experiences. He wasn’t house-trained when he came into foster but has already started to pick this up and is doing well. He wasn’t walked either so he pulls on his harness and his recall is work in progress.

Bodhi has fitted straight into our family life and dog pack. He loves being around us and our dogs, but he’s trying to teach himself doggie etiquette! Everything is so exciting, and we can see he is loving his life. However, he does need encouragement to sleep during the day as he can struggle to settle himself.

Although he loves cuddles and attention, Bodhi is also quite happy sleeping at the other end of the settee by himself. We haven’t left him by himself yet as understandably he gets a bit stressed if he can’t see us. With stability in his forever home, he should settle once he knows he’s not going to be abandoned again.

Bodhi does guard his food when the other dogs go near. This is easily managed by feeding him in a separate place so they don’t disturb him.

Ideal Home for Bodhi:

We are keen to get Bodhi into his forever home as quickly as possible. He deserves love, kindness and stability, and to live a full and happy dog’s life. He will be looking for an active home and a commitment from his new owners to give him all the training he’s missed out on over the last few months. He is a

blank canvas and is eager to learn so seeing him develop and grow into a confident and well-mannered pup will be so rewarding.

He will need either a child-free home or one with dog-savvy teenagers who will treat him with kindness and understand his behaviour.

As he loves playing with dogs, Bodhi would benefit from living with a confident playful dog. However, if he goes to a dog-free home, he will need to regularly socialise with other dogs.

Bodhi has received flea/worm treatments, has been vaccinated and will be rehomed with a contract to neuter him at the appropriate time.
