Maple has been treated for fleas and worms, is fully vaccinated and microchipped. She will be adopted with a contract to neuter when she reaches the appropriate age.
Maple was dumped in someone’s garden - she and three siblings were left in a plastic box that was tied around their mum’s neck. Thankfully someone found mum and the pups and cared for them before being handed over to Spaniel Rescue Foundation.
As with all the puppies, Maple was suffering from a bad flea infestation on her tiny body which led to her losing some fur (although she was the least affected). She was smelly, itchy and confused.
Despite her start in life, Maple has shown incredible resilience and is full of love, fun and confidence. She has been in foster care for 2 weeks and has improved so much. She is gaining weight, and her fur is slowly beginning to grow back. Her true personality is starting to shine through.
Maple is quietly boisterous - she is the chunkiest of the females. She loves playing rough & tumble with the other pups and is very vocal while playing. Although Maple is happy to have cuddles, she will usually sit back and wait for attention rather than demanding it. She has been growing in confidence since she’s been with us and is now much happier being picked up and given attention. Maple is a bit of an escape artist and is the only puppy who has learned how to climb up the puppy playpen and escape!
Maple eats well and is the heaviest of all the puppies. She has also put on the most weight while she’s been with us. She currently weighs 3.02kg
Ideal Home for Maple
Maple will be looking for a forever family who will provide her with the love, care and attention she deserves, but can also respond to her unique personality. She will need ongoing training and socialisation with other dogs and people to become a confident and happy dog.
Maple needs a calmer home, possibly with older children (8+) where she can continue to develop her confidence. She would be happy with another calm dog but would be ok as an only dog (as long as she continues to socialise with other dogs).
Although we recognise that people need to work, we will not consider rehoming a puppy to people who work full time away from home.
